Two Offices Go-Live with Bi-directional Exchanges in the Southern Tier

April 7th, 2015 - Endwell Family Physicians and Keith Nichols, MD are now bi-directional through the HealthlinkNY MEDENT Hub

Endwell Family Physicians and Keith Nichols, MD have both gone live through the MEDENT Hub. Endwell Family Physicians is a primary care group comprised of physicians, nurse practitioners and walk-in providers, working to provide the best possible patient care.

Keith Nichols MD, PLLC is a privately owned practice with a patient base dating back more than three decades, starting in 1953. The practice is a board certified family medical office consisting of a physician, family nurse practitioner and clinical social worker.

Both practices have are now live with a bi-directional CCD-A exchange. This bi-directional connection comes through the MEDENT Hub. With an already established connection with the Health Information Exchange (HIE), the two practices will have the ability to bi-directionally transfer patient data to and from any of the clients connected to the hub that allow this connection.

A Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture (CCD-A) is a certified standard for electronically exchanging clinical documents through MEDENT and the HIE. This type of connection has the ability to help participating practices meet their Meaningful Usage Stage 2 requirements. Meaningful Use is using certified electronic health record (EHR) technology to improve quality, safety, efficiency and reduce health disparities through the Medicaid and Medicare incentive program.
