New Director of Data Engineering and Analytics: Rebecca Kennis

January 14th, 2015 - HealthlinkNY is pleased to announce our New Director of Data Engineering and Analytics: Rebecca Kennis. Rebecca will be overseeing the data engineering and analytics team. Rebecca joins our team at an exciting time as we expand our data and analytics department by hiring several new employees.

Rebecca’s primary responsibilities will be data architecture and design, database administration, data warehousing and business intelligence, as well as data quality management. She will be working to implement and support new product development, including support of the data needs of the population Health Improvement Program (PHIP) and DSRIP Delivery System Reform Incentive Payments (DSRIP) systems.

HealthlinkNY is building a comprehensive analytics department that will focus on using real-time data to support the analytic needs of the community and empower data driven decision-making. To assist physicians and practices participating in health improvement programs, HealthlinkNY can create customized reporting and dashboards that help monitor progress through rapid cycle evaluation.

HealthlinkNY is excited to welcome Rebecca and her wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. Rebecca has 24 years of experience working in the Healthcare Information Technology field. She started with United Health Services Hospitals (UHSH) in Johnson City, NY working on the Laboratory Information System and continued to broaden her career in the Clinical Systems department by leading several projects, such as the development and implementation of the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE) in the Emergency Department, UHSH’s internally-developed clinical iPhone application (iCare), and the inpatient analytics and workflow engine. Rebecca also served as the hospital’s Meaningful Use expert, and more recently, managed the Health Information Systems department at Cayuga Medical Associates in Ithaca, NY where she was responsible for the EMR development and implementation, network infrastructure and security, and Health Information Management. Rebecca has a Master’s Degree in Health Administration and Informatics and has a professional certification (CPHIMS) from Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
