Health Quest and The Institute for Family Health go live with ORU connections

October 15th, 2015 - Two Hudson Valley based health organizations, Health Quest and the Institute for Family Health, are now sending patient results to the HealthlinkNY HIE.

At the end of September, Health Quest and the Institute of Family Health went live with an Observation Result (ORU) connection to the HealthlinkNY HIE.
The now live ORU connections provide an electronic means for communicating textual and discrete patient test results between digital health systems. This means that healthcare staff accessing the HealthlinkNY HIE will now be able to view their patients’ tests results from these two institutions. This connection to HealthlinkNY will make healthcare more affordable, efficient, and effective.
Health Quest is the largest family of nonprofit hospitals and healthcare providers in the Hudson Valley with three award-winning hospitals along with numerous practice groups and affiliates.  IFH is a not for profit health system that has served New York state as one of the largest healthcare systems in the state for the past 30 years. IFH serves a population of more than 85,000 annual patients across 26 locations and practices.
