First Hudson Valley Participants Go Live with HealthlinkNY: Institute for Family Health and Access: Supports for Living.

February 2nd, 2015 - As of January 20, 2015, both The Institute for Family Health and Access: Supports for Living have gone live, making them the first organizations in the Hudson Valley to be contributing data into the HealthlinkNY HIE.

Both the Institute for Family Health and Access: Supports for Living are now actively sending patient data to the HealthlinkNY HIE through secure exchange interfaces. This data is then matched with existing HIE records for these patients to create consolidated, cross-community patient records. This means that current users of the HealthlinkNY Web Portal can now have access to their patient’s health information from these Hudson Valley participants, so long as appropriate consent is in place.

These go-lives mark HealthlinkNY’s first official instance of cross-regional data sharing between the two regions that were recently brought together as a result of an announced merger between STHL and THINC.

The Institute for Family Health and Access: Supports for Living (formerly known as Occupations, Inc.) have been collecting HIE consent from their patients for the past few months in anticipation of this valuable connection going live. The flow of information is currently one-way with data being deposited to the HIE only; however, the two organizations are expected to be able to electronically receive incoming data for their patients from the HIE by the beginning of March.
