Celebrating 10 Years of Service

July 14th, 2015 - HealthlinkNY celebrates ten years of delivering health information to its community

HealthlinkNY has spent the last ten years working to strengthen and grow its Health Information Exchange (HIE) to improve the continuity of care for patients and workflow efficiency at its participating providers.

Most recently, Southern Tier HealthLink (STHL) became affiliated with Taconic Health Information Network and Community (THINC) to operate as HealthlinkNY in anticipation of an official merger in 2015. HealthlinkNY now has two locations (Binghamton and Fishkill) that serve an 11-county region spanning the Hudson Valley, Catskills, and Southern Tier.

Over this last decade, more than 25 new hospitals, 250 practices and over 50 other healthcare organizations have connected to the HealthlinkNY Health Information Exchange (HIE).

More than a dozen new staff members have been hired and trained to support the organization's growth and both locations have been expanded to accommodate continued development.

HealthlinkNY has been developing and implementing a strong community plan for population health across 12 counties, as well as developing a sophisticated analytic service to support PHIP and DSRIP projects.

HealthlinkNY is working to create brand awareness in its participating communities to help support its movement to encourage patients to permit consent.

By the end of 2015 HealthlinkNY will have the health information exchange deployed in every county we cover and are looking forward to being the beta site for the Statewide Patient Portal.

HealthlinkNY looks forward to serving its communities for many years to come through its continued support from staff and board members.
